The late Mrs. Coulter was born in 1872 in Port Austin, the daugter of the late Walter & Eliza Jane Weeks.
In the year 1903, the late Annie May Weeks married Robert Coulter of Novesta. Her husband preceded her 28 years ago after which time she lived with her paretns. In 1923, Mrs. Coulter moved to North Bayham, Ontario with her cousin William Weeks. About two years ago, they moved to Derchme where she resided until about five months ago when she came to stay with her Son and Daughter in North Bayham where she passed away on Tuesday March 30.
Surviving her are a Son, Albert, and a Daughter, (Lela) Mrs. Stanley Noles, both of North Bayham, a Sister (Mary) Caswell of Holly, Michigan and a Brother Lorne Weeks of Pontiac and several nieces and nephews.

At this point, I lose track of William Dick Wilkie & his family in Scotland.
Relatives find him in England.
Then in New Zealand around the time of 1875

Sailed Glasgow 27th August 1874 - arrived Dunedin 21st November 1874

Wilkie, Margaret, Age 55

Wilkie, Charles Age 12

Wilkie, Robert Age 26, County Fife, Occupation Ploughman
Wilkie, Elizabeth Age 26
Wilkie, Andrew Age 7
Wilkie, Elizabeth Age 3
Wilkie, Margaret Age 1
Certainly there seems to be a little discrepancy in the ages and birth dates as I know them, but then this did happen on passenger lists and other databases - so for the moment this checks out. I wonder, though, why Janet left earlier and was married in New Zealand, then also Son James - seems he was perhaps married there also - why did they leave earlier. I also wonder if all of these families or just some were sponsored by the govt to migrate to New Zealand????? HW Jan 2011

"A Notable Event"
Mr and Mrs William Wilkie of Greytown, East Taieri, celebrated their golden wedding with great rejoicings on the 18th inst. at the residence of their Son in Law, Mr John Sinclair, Cargill Street, Dunedin. Mr & Mrs Wilkie have borne the burden and heat of the day for 50 years, and they are still as hale and hearty as can be expected at their time of life. They are natives of Leslie, Fifeshire, Scotland and had five sons and three daughters, 24 grandchildren, and one great grandchild, all of whom, with the exception of one daughter, who is in Leslie, Fifeshire, took part in these festivities. Mrs James C. Renton, George Street, is a Daughter, and her daughters Maggie & Bella, together with Misses Mary & Agnes Sinclair, (also grand-daughters) of the worthy couple) officiated as the golden bridesmaids. This is the second occasion on which the little Renton girls have acted in this capacity, they having been in evidence at Grandmother Renton's Golden wedding 18 mos ago. It is a unique experience, and these young people rejoice in the possession of grandparents on both sides who are in the enjoyment of excellent health, and who united ages, it is worth mentioning, amount to 303 years. At the close of a day full of happiness the golden bride was presented by her relatives and friends with a purse of sovereigns.

August 2014 - Visit with First Cousin Daniel (Danny) Strome

Danny was telling me he could remember his first drink of Scotch - he was abt 17 and was helping Richard with his paper route. They had finished delivering papers, decided to stop in and visit Grampa Dave Wilkie
In some way, the topic of Scotch was talked about and Grampa Dave offered them both some Scotch - Richard asked for mix in his and Grampa Dave replied " If you are going to drink a man's drink then you must act like a man and bottoms up"
To this day, Danny really enjoys a Single Malt scotch - no water, ice or mix. I, Heather, share his sentiments - no mix or water in mine either

Tragedy struck February 24, 1981 when his plane crashed during a snowstorm at Heisler, AB.

OBITUARY:
RICHARD WILKIE
Castor plane crash kills businessman.
A funeral service will be held here, tentatively on Friday for Richard Wilkie, 42 of Castor, who was found dead Tuesday afternoon in the wreckage of his light plane after being reported overdue on a flight to Castor from Edmonton.
A Twin Otter 440 search aircraft from CFB Edmonton, found the plane at 3:15 near Heisler, about 50 km. N. of Castor.
Search director Capt. Keith Hummel said Mr. Wilkie was alone on the plane, which left Edmonton Municipal airport about 12:30 am Tuesday for the 50 min. flight to Castor.
Capt. Hummel said there was no indication at the site of the cause of the crash. The aircraft went down in flat, farming terrain, mixed with patches of trees. 2 search and rescue aircraft put in about 16 hours of flying time said Capt. Hummel.
Mr. Wilkie was piloting his Cessna 182, returning from a business trip to Edmonton for his firm E&R Electric Ltd., of Castor.
Capt. Hummel said the federal transport dept. will investigate the crash.
Officials notified Mrs. Wilkie at about 5 am Tuesday that her husbands' plane was missing. Earlier at about 2 am, she received a phone call asking for her husband. Peggy knew it was the airport phoning - said a family member.
The wreck was spotted about 15 hours after takeoff. Mr. Wilkie was a pilot for 7 years. Survivors include his wife Margaret Rose, daughters Janice - 17 and Jacqueling - 16 of Castor. Services held at Community Centre February 27, 1981.

Interment at Castor Cemetery.
