Did not find a death for Thomas on ScotlandsPeople under the years of 1901-1950 or 1901 - 1960. When I did the search 7 or so Thomas Adams came up - but none in Perth - all Glasgow, Midlothian etc - which still could be him, but thought I would wait for 1911 census release in April 2011

MAN DROWNED IN THE TAY
Yesterday afternoon Edward Adams, a labourer and ballastman, was drowned in the Tay, near Newburgh. Engaged with three other men loading a ship with sand, on the Nosey Nell sandbank, at the north side of Mugdrum Island, the tide coming up upon them, one of them with Adams left to reach the long dyke running out from the Island, but the latter insisted on crossing a lade running between the sandbank and the dyke, and in doing so sank in a deep part. The two men left behind saw him disappear and ran to the spot, but the body did not come to the surface, and up to a late hour last night, had not been recovered. Adams leaves a wife and large family, all of them being young. **

** At the time of this tragedy, Edwin Adams was survived by his Wife Agnes and 6 children, ages 13, 11, 9, 7, 5, 3 - a most difficult time for all of them

Tried finding them via children's names too and again, nothing came up that was their family. perhaps the 1841 census where they were residing is one of many that perished as these were being transported to New Registry House. Christian Paul, Widow of Robt Wilkie, Farm Servant, Burnbrae, Age 46, Died 5th January and was interred on 8th currt in the New Church Yard

Christian (Paul) Wilkie's death left all of her children parentless, and I believe none of them were married at the time of her death. Her youngest Child, David Johnston Wilkie would be approximately 8 years old. At this time, I have no idea where David went for care and loving - 8 years old seems young even in these times to be on your own.

It seems that Christian Paul's birth has occurred prior to the 'official' marriage date given in Parish records as Jan 31 1788 or 6 July 1788, thus explains why her birth not found on IGI or other sources, except the Old Parish Records and altho many other sources indicate this is probably our Christian Paul, I cannot state this as absolutely Fact
