The Father owned and operated a grocery store. He was a thrifty Scot, and had a nice business. One morning he left home to go to the store but he never reach (ed) his destination. He disappeared entirely. No trace of his whereabouts was ever found. No one ever knew what happened to him"....

Another family (Arnot family) member has been researching this Family as well has many 'family keepsakes' in his possession - and their sources say Andrew Arment (Arnott) Parents were Robert Arnot born 1792 & Jean Montgomery born 1794. I cannot say which is most correct, but my source is from Andrew's death certificate and perhaps the informant - dtr Isabella was unsure of the names. HW

At some point before the 1871 census, the surname Airment was changed to ARNOT, and again some fam. members used one 'T' and others 'TT'.

Christian (Paul) Wilkie's death left all of her children parentless, and I believe none of them were married at the time of her death. Her youngest Child, David Johnston Wilkie would be approximately 8 years old. At this time, I have no idea where David went for care and loving - 8 years old seems young even in these times to be on your own.

Christian Paul, Widow of Robt Wilkie, Farm Servant, Burnbrae, Age 46, Died 5th January and was interred on 8th currt in the New Church Yard

It seems that Christian Paul's birth has occurred prior to the 'official' marriage date given in Parish records as Jan 31 1788 or 6 July 1788, thus explains why her birth not found on IGI or other sources, except the Old Parish Records and altho many other sources indicate this is probably our Christian Paul, I cannot state this as absolutely Fact
