#7621 Wilkie, James - freehold, Roslyn, bookseller, Sections 34 & 35; block 14 Dunedin and Section 2, Block 6 Roslyn

On this same database,
#7622 Wilkie, John Residential, Dunedin, Stone Mason - Cumberland Street
#7623 Wilkie, John Lamb Residential, Dunedin, Packer, Lees Street

Some of we Wilkie researchers had previously linked the below names as 'ours' but I don't think they are - not that I have seen the grave photo. hw
((Southern Cemetery: Block 11, Plot 6
James Wilkie; Died on 14th Sep 1873, Aged 56 years
Also his Wife, Bathia Wilkie, who died 10 Feb 1894, Aged 79 years
Also His Son, James Wilkie, Died on 29 Apr 1891, Aged 41 years
Also, Eliza McGregor Wilkie, Died 8 Mar 1931, in her 80th year)) all info between double Brackets - tells me that this is not our James Wilkie - Son of William Dick Wilkie & Margaret Fraser - as grave photo clearly shows one James Wilkie is the Father and the other is a Son of him ))
Errors can occur regarding information on grave markers, but for now I will accept this is not of our 'family'. hw 2019

Cannot find this lady on Deaths ScotlandsPeople - so wonder if they travelled elsewhere - however the informant on Charles Stewart Alexander Wilkie's death in 1947 was A. A. Wilkie - Sister - thus it appears she may have returned to her maiden name - divorced John Ross??? Feb 2011 HW

Further research finds John Hutchison Ross arrival in Canada - aboard Ship Cassandra , arriving in Quebec Oct 1920. Passengers Declaration, Dated & signed 12 Aug 1920 - gives his age as 33, architect, coming to Canada for a partnership with Bro in Law - Arthur Parks, at Nootha, Vancouver Island, BC. No mention of Wife Agnes, but does state he is married; Next of Kin is noted as Mrs Grace Ross of 28 Claremont, Alloa, Clackmannan - thus seems to be the same fellow Agnes Wilkie married?????
Earlier census of 1891 & 1901 do confirm John H Ross, Birthplace Dunfermline, Fifeshire, Parents George Ross, Vintner & Grace Ramage which match the info given on the marriage certificate hw
