Notes - Amos settled in the Bayham area at Lot 6, conc 114. He was termed
a 'freeholder' meaning had property versus a householder who would only be living in that area perhaps leasing etc.
Amos bought from his brother Daniel Miller ( who inherited his fathers land upon his death) on 29 May 1828 SW of S1/2 totaling 59 acres . On this document of sale, Amos Junior 's occupation is noted as labourer.
Amos Weeks also bought an additional 6 acres from Pellum Mabee on 14 July 1842.
Then on 15 July 1842, Amos and his wife resold their 65 acres to Peter Snyder.
Document # 3429 of Land Agreements. Amos sold his property to Peter Snyder for the sum ยน175. On this Memorial Land Agreement, Amos and Mary Jane Weeks were residing in the" Twp of Dorchester, Southern Division, Middlesex Cty, district of London, Province of Canada" * I thought this was strange to note Canada as a province. In this document, Mary Jane Weeks also renounces her dowry rights for the sum of 5 schillings.

Thus during this 40 year span, which has 10 year gaps - Amos could have gone to USA for a year or two, but it seems he regularly was recorded on our Canadian censuses every 10 years.

Not sure of accuracy of parents - I agree with Father's name, but have been searching for decades for Amos Weeks Sr wife's name - Mary doesn't fit with naming of females in families, but still could be factual - needs more research Aug 26, 2008 hw
