Notes - George had been complaining about not feeling well before Xmas, saying he had 'stomach pains". He missed a few days of school but seemed to 'come around' during the school holidays and the Xmas season.
One day Hazel and Omar noticed that George wasn't keeping up when walking to school. They called to him, but he said 'I'm OK.'
The next morning, the same thing happened again. George couldn't keep up when walking and said he was turning back and going home. Later in the day he had a fever, and they called Dr. McPherson. He said to bring him in to the hospital, Ross hitched up the team of horses, the wagon and George was loaded into the back of the wagon.
The next morning when Ira (his Dad) and Ross were visiting, a smile came upon his face, eyes turned very blue and he was gone.
Story told to Heather Wilkie Williams by Omar Neal Weeks.
George is buried at Markam Cemetery, NE of Castor.
