Haven't found David since 1891 Census - there are some strong possibilities in the USA but without some clues as to parents names, children cannot identify for sure they are 'this David'.

April 03, 2011 I feel strongly that some of the immigration names I have found for a David Wilkie could well be one of 'ours' as yesterday I found Robert Wilkie (David's brother) - married to Marion Drysdale, and members of their families living in Salineville Ohio, with one file from ancestry.ca saying Robert's son David - married to Ann Cunninham died in 1976 in Allegheny Pennsylvania. SSN for son David verifies that date. hw

Robert Wilkie's birth location seems to vary - Census - Logie, Sterling; Logie Clackmannshire; Beath Fife
According to Gazateer of Scotland by Rev John Wilson 1-888265-07-8, there is a Logie in the Parishes of Sterling, Clackmannanshire and Perthshire with acres in all of these 'shires'. The Ochil hills are in Clackmannanshire thus it seems 'not wrong' to state Robert's birth place within these boundaries.

As I know (from above) Robert arrived first on 16 Sep 1912, I have not found a list with his departure back to Scotland in 1915 - would that have been due to WWI issues; was he forced to return to Scotland or were there family issues???

This death event needs more research - as there are numerous Robert Wilkie's in Ohio & Pennsylvania. The fact that Marion states she is a Widow in 1940, Son David is with her - I presumed the death of 1926 was Marion's husband; but perhaps not; perhaps Robt & Marion divorced and he went on to other things. Newspaper clipping in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania - stating 103 age Robert - fighting for his rights - family Sons & Dtrs arguing in court as to his $200,000 estate - he was a construction builder by trade and the Robert I am seeking was a coal miner!!!!

Since finding the above family, I have researched the local histories of Brooks Alberta and it seems Ronald Wilkie married Jessie Brown; Ronald's Parents were named as J. C. Wilkie formerly of Medicine Hat & CPR activities; Ronald's brother Fettis died in 1918 of diptheria - so at this time I am uncertain if this is OUR family connection at all - as I am searching for a James Boyd Wilkie

James (Jim) Donald Wilkie, January 21 1928 - May 14, 2004. It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, Jim, on Friday, May 14 2004, at the Riverview Health Centre, after a courageous battle with cancer and heart disease. Jim will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his Wife, Helen "Len" of 55 years of marriage; Sons, Jim, Don and Scott (Sharon); Daughters Melanie (Phil Edwards), Sharon Stubbs and Heather (Bill Arhcer); 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; extended family Jim, Sharon and Karl, Sister Mona Hildebrand; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, inlaws and special friends. He was predeceased by his parents, William and Annie; his siblings Ralph, Doug and Lorna; father-in-law Harry Koswin; and his mohter-in-law Mary Koswin, with whom he had a special love and bond. Throughout his illness, Jim maintained his love of collecting "treasures" and his wonderful sense of humour and quick wit, often surprising nurses and doctors with his quick and witty comebacks. Please think of him as living in the hearts of those he touched for nothing loves is ever lost, and he was loved so much. In compliance with Jim's wishes, no formal funeral service will be held. Our family would like to thank Jim's family doctor, Dr. W. Tse, his respite workers, Gloria for the songs and Sandra for the massages, Drs. Crow and Harlos and everyone involved in the Palliative Care Program and Riverview Care Centre for all the kindness, support and care given to Jim. Also, thank you to Judy H for being there and helping us to smile, to "Santa" for the ride and making last Christmas so special, and to Bob H for all the help he provided to Jim with his collections. Obituary: James (Jim) Michael Wilkie
James (Jim) Michael Wilkie - June 8 1950 - June 28 2009. Peacefully after a brief illness it is with sadness that we announce the passing of Jim on Sunday, June 28 2009 at Riverview Health Centre at the age of 59 yrs. Remaining to forever cherish Jim's memory are his Wife Sharon; Daughters Tracy and Faye; Son Jamie; Grandson Michael; Mother Helen; Sisters Melanie, Sharon; Heather, Brothers Don and Scott. He was predeceased by his Father James Wilkie and his first Wife Silvia Wilkie. A celebration of Jim's life will take place on Saturday, July 4 2009 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Viscount Gort Hotel, 1670 Portage Avenue. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Cancer Care Manitoba.
