Bény-Sur-Mer is one of two Canadian Military cemeteries located in Normandy. This cemetery is located between the towns of Reviers and Beny-Sur-Mer, which overlooks Juno Beach, where the 3rd Canadian Division landed on 06 Jun 1944 in conflict with 12 SS Panzer Division Hitlerjugend prior to the liberation of Caen on the 9th of July 1944.
Each grave marker states the Names and the military number of the deceased soldier, his Age and Rank, the name of his Unit, the date of his Death as well as the emblem of his Regiment or the Canadian Maple Leaf emblem.
One of those grave markers is for Private Harry Esmond Rouse, youngest Son of Karl Esmond Rouse and Theresa Sarah Ann Jones of Tillsonburg Ontario Canada succumbed to his wounds received in Battle at Juno Beach on 08 July 1944. He was only 19 years of age.
