Searching online Free BMD records, New Zealand
Janet Renton, died 1950, Aged 71 yrs; Reg #25496
This computes to a birth year Abt 1879

Further cemetery research revealed:
Renton, Janet
Age not recorded
Female
Date of Death 28 June 1950
Place of death - not recorded
Last Address - not recorded
Funeral Director - Campbell & Sons, 95 Gordon Road, Mosgiel, Dunedin, New Zealand
Cemetery - East Taieri Cemetery, Block RA, Plot 110
Date of Burial: 28 Jun 1950
Original Reference: #E19500604
Others buried in this plot are Christena Crawford Brown, David, Brown, James Brown, Marion Watt Brown, May Crawford Brown & Winifred Wilson Renton
Research Jan 2011 HW Upon clicking on these names, an assumption could be made that they are siblings and parents. I am thinking it is probable that Winifred Wilson Renton is a dtr - perhaps prior to Janet & James Carrell Renton's wedding as married Nov 1901 and birth of this person is also 1901

Searching the Free BMD records for New Zealand, came across a marriage:
1911 - Groom William Wilkie Sinclair - Bride Jane Frances Higgins - "Reg # is 6114
Seems a very possible match

Same database, found a Death - William Wilkie Sinclair - 1918 Age 40 yrs, Reg #11400
Unable to find a grave location - I checked one site on WWI memorials to soldiers, but his name wasn't found there. HW Jan 2011

I cannot search for children as we are just now at the 100 yr for birth records accessiblity for the year 1911 HW

Birth database search - gave William Wilkie Sinclair birth 1878, Reg 5700

May 2016 research:
Wanganui Chronicle newspaper - 02 Oct 1918, Pg 4
Deaths:
Sinclair, - On the 1st inst. at his residence, No. 7 Serjeant St., William Wilkie, dearly beloved husband of Jean Sinclair, aged 40 years R I P
This seems a positive fit - as wife was Jane Frances Higgins - thus Jane / Jean used interchangeably.

"Howard Stevenson: - written by Euphemia Stevenson
Howard came from East Angus, Quebec, in March 1926 to the Craigyle District. His father was J. M. Stevenson. He bought a section of land in 1924 which was located three and one half miles West of Craigmyle, and known as the Company farm.
In 1928 Howard married Euphemia Beath of the Delia district. We had one Son Ronald, born in 1934. We lived on that farm until 1939 and then moved north of Delia 1 mile, stahying there for four years, and then moving west of Delia to the Hubbard farm where I still live. Howard passed away in 1963. Ronald and his Wife Betty reside on the farm with me. They have three children: Joni, Robert and Douglas.
Howard served on many committees - Municipal Council, School board, church board, twelve years secretary of UFA farm supply and ten years on the local UGG board. While he was on the UGG b oard, the Delia Curling rink came into being. ...."
I came from Barrie Ontario in March 1918, attended school at Starland and lived with my Uncle, Dave Elliott, until I was married. I also attended the Olds School of Agriculture and took a Home Economics course. When we came to Alberta there was very little cultivated land."
Beath, Euphemia Jean (I966)

334 Amos settled in the Bayham area at Lot 6, conc 114. He was termed
a 'freeholder' meaning had property versus a householder who would only be living in that area perhaps leasing etc.
Amos bought from his brother Daniel Miller ( who inherited his fathers land upon his death) on 29 May 1828 SW of S1/2 totaling 59 acres . On this document of sale, Amos Junior 's occupation is noted as labourer.

Amos Weeks also bought an additional 6 acres from Pellum Mabee on 14 July 1842.
Then on 15 July 1842, Amos and his wife resold their 65 acres to Peter Snyder.
Document # 3429 of Land Agreements. Amos sold his property to Peter Snyder for the sum ¹175. On this Memorial Land Agreement, Amos and Mary Jane Weeks were residing in the" Twp of Dorchester, Southern Division, Middlesex Cty, district of London, Province of Canada" * I thought this was strange to note Canada as a province. In this document, Mary Jane Weeks also renounces her dowry rights for the sum of 5 schillings.

1851 Census of Canada East, Canada West, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia
Canada West, Elgin County, Dorcester South Twp, Page 61, Line 49 & 50
Amos Weeks, Farmer, Birthplace Canada, Religion None, Age 43, Male
Mary Jane Weeks, Birthplace Canada, Religion None, Age 33, Female

Weeks, Mary Jane, Age 42, Baptist, Female, Married
Weeks, Walter, Age 20, Labourer, Universalist, Single
Weeks, Nancy, Age 17, Baptist, Single
Weeks, Cyrus, Age 11, Baptist, Single

Amos did move at one point to Michigan (Family rumour- not proven)
He is recorded on the 1871 census for Elgin Cty however, Subdistrict E,DivPg #3 and Page #13. Notes from the Census:
Weeks, Amos, Male, age 62, birthplace Ontario, Universalist religion, German origin, Occupation Farmer
Weeks, Mary Jane, female, age 52, birthplace Ontario, religion close crown Baptist, origin Scotch
Weeks, Cyrus, male, age 20, birthplace Ontario, religion W. Methodist, German origin, Farmer
They had a total of 89+110+50 acres of land owned, Crops were fall wheat, barley, oats, rye, corn, potatoes, hay and apples. Livestock consisted of horses, milch cows, horned cows, sheep, swine, 4 bee hives, 1020 pounds of butter, 125 pounds of honey, 70 pounds of wood. The lots numbers were 116 and 117 North Talbot Road (NTR), Concession 7.

Mary Jane (_____) Weeks, Wife of Amos, died in 1878 in Bayham twp, Elgin Cty. Ont.

1881 Census, Bayham, Elgin County East, Ontario, Canada, Page 32, Family 173
Amos Weeks, Male, Widower, Age 73, Birthplace Ontario, Farmer

Thus during this 40 year span, which has 10 year gaps - Amos could have gone to USA for a year or two, but it seems he regularly was recorded on our Canadian censuses every 10 years.

349 Dorothy and Omar Weeks didn't have a family.

Dorothy and Omar were married November 02, 1933 at Dorothy's home in
Throne. There were 18 guests including 2 witnesses at their wedding, and of this number 8 guests were family members. Her adopted mother was very much in disagreement with the nuptials. After the wedding Dorothy and Omar lived in Ira Weeks' barn.* The loft area was cleaned, papered and made a lovely, homey suite for 2. This barn was located in the coulee below the now Castor Hospital. The happy couple had lined the barn loft with brown paper to freshen the walls. Again her parents were horrified. Dorothy and Omar lived here for 3 months.

350 Dorothy's Mother died giving birth to Dorothy. Within72 hours,
Julianna Elizabeth LEY was adopted by Huldah and Herman Dettlaff, farmers located across the prairie field from the Ley's farm. Dorothy's adopted parents recognized her birthday as her adoption date, which was November 02, 1910; also renamed her Dorothy Margaret.

Notes from Wesley Ley, 2005; At the time of Julianna's birth, a local "midwife" by the name of Mrs. Mulgrove attended the birthing and cared for Julianna after her Mothers death. When word reached England of George Henry Ley's woes, in the loss of his wife, George's brother Robert and wife Lucy journeyed to AB, Canada to help look after the baby. By this time, of course, the formal adoption had gone thru with the Dettlaffs being the adopted parents and Julianna's name changed to Dorothy Margaret. This was quite a disappointment to Robert & Lucy Ley.

Her adopted parents Notes
Huldah A. Barteaux (dtr. of Mrs Watson Barteaux Sept 20,1842 - Feb 1927 ) was born August 17, 1870 in Nova Scotia, died Sept. 27,1962 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Buried Sept. 29, 1962 in Coronation Cemetery, AB, Canada.
Herman F. Dettlaff Nov 14, 1872 - Jan 24, 1935. Buried in Coronation Cemetery, AB., Canada

Gwendolyn Kate (Burt) LEY-{Julianna Elizabeth Ley's or Dorothy Margaret DETTLAFF mother} died during her childbirth thus her father Mr. George Ley couldn't raise his family of 2 other children - Sid and Janet in addition to his latest little one.
Mr. and Mrs. Dettlaff lived across the prairie field from the Leys and the Dettlaffs had expressed great interest in having children. As the Dettlaffs were married later in life it was decided to adopt and when the news came of the Leys' situation Mrs. Huldah Dettlaff drove immediately to the homeplace and asked to adopt the baby. Thus Dorothy calls Mr. and Mrs. Dettlaff her parents and it was understood and enforced that she would not visit or see her family on social outings. Dorothy's natural parents' homestead could be seen from the back porch of the Dettlaff homestead and she would often gaze in that direction.
The Dettlaffs raised Dorothy and spoiled her easily in that she was an only child. Her adopted mother used her seamstress skills and teaching knowledge in keeping Dorothy clothed in the latest styles and wonderful fabrics of the day. Dorothy was also driven weekly to town for piano lessons - music playing a major part of her life. Her adopted parents continued to battle the prairie conditions in making a livelihood in mixed farming. Dorothy played for dances during her teen years.

Dorothy was not going with anyone in 1933; friends of hers Bertha and Gus Stein from Throne AB decided to drive over to Bulwark and picnic with other friend's "Millers". It was on this afternoon that Dorothy and Omar met as Omar was also visiting the Millers. The following Sunday Dorothy and Omar attended the Stampede at Nose Hill and the romance was on.
