  • Notes
    • William Dick Wilkie is enumerated on England 1851 & 1861 censuses. In 1851 he is living with his Parents and siblings, Age 4 mos

In 1861 he is a Scholar, attending the Kennington Law (Licensed Victuallers' School), Lambeth, Surrey, England.
This school was established in 1803 by the Licensed Trade Charity. - this charity aimed to provide a caring and challenging education for the children of those working in the licensed drinks trade. As industrialisation increased and London spread outward, the school moved to another green field site in Slough in 1921, and when history repeated itself, the school moved again in the late 1980s to Ascot in Berkshire.

I do not know at which time he departed England for Australia, but it is known that his Uncle William Dick Wilkie born Scotland, came to England after 1871, then onto New Zealand about 1881 or 1885.

Further research required for this individual. Thanks to ancestry.ca & apadgett63 public family tree for steering me in the direction of Australia
