He attended the rural school of Beaverdale for the first nine years and then took part of highschool in Castor riding horseback, biking and many times walking the five miles each way. He helped with the farm work at home and then spent a few years working as a hired hand on other farms. Clarence drove truck for several years and later took up employment at Schnell's Shop in Castor. He worked there for a good number of years, mostly fixing and repairing farm equipment. he continued to work for Dave Clark after Dave purchased the business from Schnells. Besides this Clarence had a bit of land of his own and he loved to go and spend time putting in his crop and working on his tractors and equipment. Clarence spent his entire life in the Castor area and will be missed by many people.
