    • Newspaper clipping of wedding of Mollie Klaus and Allan Wilkie
Zion Evangelical Church, NE of Castor was tastefully decorated with bouquets of spring flowers, flowering plants and ferns on Tuesday, June 30, 1953 for the marriage of Miss Mollie Klaus, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Klaus and LAC D. Allan Wilkie, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Wilkie. Rev. Becker performed the double ring ceremony.
The bride, beautifully gowned in a gown of white tulle, with overdress of lace tapering to a tiny train, finger length veil caught to a tiara like head-dress, entered the church on the arm of her father. She carried a white Bible, garlanded with a mauve and white orchid and small red rosebuds caught in streamers of white ribbon.
The bride's sister, Miss Margaret Klaus, was maid of honor, wearing a blue gown of bouffant net over satin and fashioned with a deep cowl neckline. She carried a bouquet of yellow roses. The tiny flower girl, Miss Verna Steinwand, was charming in pale yellow satin with net overskirt, puff sleeves and head-dess of yellow roses on a net bandeau. She carried a white basket of yellow daisies, red roses and carnations.
The best man was Mr. Conrad Klaus, brother of the bride, and the ushers were Mr. Norman Steinwand and Mr. Leo Klaus. The wedding music was played by Mrs. Lone and during the signing of the register, Mrs. J. T, Klaus sang "I'll walk beside you".
After the ceremony a reception and wedding breakfast was held in the Banquet room of the Stettler Hotel, with abouf fifty guests present. The bride's table was centered with the beautifully decorated 3 tiered wedding cake, surrounded by red roses. The toast to the bride was given by Rev. Becker and responded to by the bridegroom.
The happy couple left by car for a short trip to Calgary and Edmonton, after which they will spend a short time at home before LAC Wilkie has to report back to his base at Ottawa.
For travelling, the bride chose a grey suit with white accessories and orchid corsage. The groom's gift to the bride was a four piece set of matched luggage.
Out of town guests for the wedding included Mr and Mrs P. Klaus of Portland Oregon, Mrs Klaus being the godmother of the bride and Mrs. A. Adamson of Calgary.
