      Mrs. Alexander Coutts 1925
Catherine Beath, widow of the late Alexander Coutts, died on Wednesday night at the home of her son, R. D. Coutts, Midhurst, in her seventy-sixth year. Mrs. Coutts had been in good health up to Friday of last week when she became ill. On Tuesday she developed pneumonia which proved fatal. The late Mrs. Coutts was born in Whitby Township, near Oshawa, her father being Robert Beath. Forty-nine years ago she married Alexander Coutts, who died in 1922, and all her married life was spent on the farm in which she died. She was held in the highest regard by all who knew her. Four sons survive: R.D. Coutts, Midhurst; A. B. Coutts, Barrie; David A. and James D. Hughenden, Alta. There are also one sister, Miss Euphemia Beath of Barrie, and three brothers, W.D. Beath, Toronto; James B., Vancouver, and Robert of Oshawa. Three weeks ago Mrs. Coutts attended the funeral of her eldest sister, Mrs. Isabella McKenzie, who died in Bolton. The funeral will take place on Monday afternoon from the home to the United Church Midhurst, and thence to Midhurst Cemetery for burial.
